Remember that old saying about not having enough sense to come in out of the rain? Actually, this was mama squirrel, whom we watched lead her three babies out of a storm and into a hole that evidently only had room for the babies. Poor thing stayed like that for an hour or more, and finally scampered off somewhere when the rains let up for a while. |
You have to admit, even for a nuisance insect, he's pretty cute. |
It's not that he's ugly, exactly, but this salamander is a bit startling sometimes. He's happy in his new home in the woodpile, after being encouraged to move from beneath the cabin. |
