We hoped for a bright sunny day for our first Breakfast with the Dockmaster, and we got one - a beautiful, warm Carolina morning. The sun rose on Easter morning with the Whitakers off to Sunday services by the river, the Sundmans onboard their Whitby 42 psyching up for their trip south, Mr. Moore and son-in-law prepping his boat for three weeks' aboard with his wife, and the Davidsons doing a little necessary work for the coming season. The dockmaster and mistress worked at preparing the inaugral Breakfast with the Dockmaster. We all worship at our own altars, the dockmaster says. |
The Boonedocks crew was a little busy at breakfast and missed the opportunity to get pictures of the eight slipholders, two family members, and one neighbor who shared the deck for scrambled eggs, grits, sourdough bread, bacon, sausage, hot coffee, and, courtesy of the Sundmans, Mimosas (yum!). It was quite a crowd and more fun than we could have hoped for. Later in the day, Easter being a day for family, the Dockmaster took his daughter and grandson for a tractor ride. Varoom-varoom, as our grandson says. |
